It all begins with desire. Some people believe in order to be spiritual we must overcome our desires. I believe that simply changing them is enough. What you resist persists, and what you look at disappears.
Some folks seek to overcome all earthly passions in an effort to become more "God-like." They often work at it so hard that this becomes their passion. They have replaced other so-called "earthly" passions with the passion to be God-like, to be right, to feel chosen, to belong to God's exclusive club. Well let me tell you that nothing that's exclusionary is even remotely God-like. Passion is passion, and to trade one for another doesn't eliminate it.
We should embrace our passions, not judge them. Simply notice it, see if it serves you given who you wish to be, and move on. Remember you are constantly in the act of creating yourself. With every passing moment you are deciding who and what you are. And you decide this largely through the choices you make and what you feel passionate about.
Passion is the love of turning being into action. It is the jet fuel that that fires or creative spirit. It changes concept into experience.
Passion is the fire that drives us to express who we really are. Never deny your passion, because that would be like denying who you truly are and who you truly want to become.
