The work of your Soul is to wake yourself up. The work of the Universe is to wake everyone else up.
Have you had the experience of finally realizing that you are not in the world, the world is actually in you? If so you may have experienced a type of awakening that has allowed you to see how things actually are and that previously you were oblivious to this because you were sleepwalking. I call it "sleepwalking", but really all it means is that you are at a different point in your journey than others. We are all on the same path, just at different points along the way.
Once we have this realization, the most common reactions are: "I need to tell others about this! Does anyone else know about this? What if they think I'm crazy for talking like this?" Truth is, you can tell everyone, but only some are ready to hear it. So how can we help others awaken then?
This can be done in two ways:
1) By re-minding them who "they" really are.
2) By re-membering who "you" really are.
Number one is very difficult because most people will not believe you.
Number two is much easier because you don't need their belief, only your own. Demonstrating this constantly, ultimately reminds others of who they really are, because they will see themselves in you.
I am reminded of this wonderful poem, which I am uncertain of the author:
One man awake can awaken another.
And the second can awaken his next-door brother.
And the three awake, can awaken the town,
by turning the whole place upside down.
And the many awake can make such a fuss
that they finally awaken the rest of us.
