Something I hear people say quite frequently is "I would get on with my life if I only knew what my purpose was." So they are stuck, and unfortunately blaming the fact that they can't move forward on not knowing their purpose, and therefore will never be happy.
Well, here it is. Are you ready? Your life's purpose is:
To experience your fullest magnificence.
One of the deepest secrets is that life is not a process of discovery, but a process of creation. You are not discovering yourself, but creating yourself anew every day. Therefore we shouldn't strive to find out who we are, but determine who we want to be.
I hear so many people say "I don't know who I am anymore" and indeed I asked myself that question a number of years ago, but the question you really should be asking is "Who do I want to become."
Life is an opportunity for us to know experientially what we already know conceptually. We don't need to "learn" anything to do this, we merely need to remember what we already know, and act on it.
In essence, you must create your experience, thereby creating your-SELF in the magnificent moment of the Now. Not in the past or future, but in the Now. Simply notice who and what you are being, doing, and having, and see whether or not it serves you.
Your purpose then is not to get anywhere. It's to notice that you are, and always have been, already there. Since you are, and always will be, in the moment of pure creation.
Forget about playing on life's competitive plane and rise up to the creative plane. You are a creator!
The point of your life then is to create - who and what you are, no matter what that is, and then experience that. Anything else is just fluff.
